Not much has been reported on Lowry's current status but him skating once again is a good sign. The normal timetable for recovery after hip surgery is typically five to six months, which would have Lowry returning sometime in November or December.

The 32-year-old St. Louis product is coming off another 30+ point season, his third in a row, while working as one of the best two-way forwards in the NHL. His +18 rating was third-best among Winnipeg forwards while his 140 hits ranked second on the team.

Lowry's third line unit with Nino Niederreiter and now Detroit Red Wing Mason Appleton was one of the most effective lines in the league over the last three years and his absence along with Appleton's will test the depth of the Jets lineup.
