Winnipeg Jets captain Adam Lowry returned to practice in regular jersey as they gear up to return to game action on Saturday.
The 31-year-old suffered an upper-body injury on Jan. 20 against Utah HC and has been out since then. He was labeled week-to-week the following day and, after a month, looks to be nearing a return.
Lowry has been vital to the Jets' success, and although they went on an eight-game win streak prior to the 4 Nations Face-Off without him, they'll be thrilled to add Lowry back to the lineup when he's available. His defensive abilities, leadership qualities and physicality are all elements they've been without.
When the Jets return to regular season action, they'll travel to take on the St. Louis Blues. Morgan Barron, the other Jets forward who was announced week-to-week before the break, will likely not be in the lineup. He skated today on his own before the practice session but did not participate with the team.
The final stretch run is shortly approaching, and the deadline is just 16 days away, and the Jets are getting healthy at the right time.
