Winnipeg Jets forward Morgan Barron has been out since Jan. 28 after suffering an upper-body injury but is nearing a return and could be available against the Ottawa Senators and Nashville Predators, according to HC Scott Arniel.
Barron sustained the injury against the Montreal Canadiens after he threw a heavy hit on Kirby Dach. Prior to the injury, the 26-year-old had scored five goals and eight points in 52 games, providing physicality on the Jets' fourth line.
Josh Morrissey will enter the lineup tonight after missing Saturday's game with an illness. He was a full participant in practice and took line rushes, indicating his return. With Morrissey's return, the one injured player on the Jets' roster is Barron.
The Jets host the San Jose Sharks tonight and will do so without Barron. Adam Lowry left practice early, but Arniel mentioned that it is no concern and he is fine. He had been out since Jan. 20 before returning against the St. Louis Blues. In his return, he recorded three shots on goal and two hits in 17:05 of ice time.
