Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele hit the ice today sporting a tracksuit alongside assistant coach Marty Johnson and was later announced as a game-time decision for Sunday's Game 7.

The 32-year-old exited Game 5 early after receiving a pair of thunderous hits and was out for Game 6 with what is being acknowledged as an undisclosed injury. Despite missing the last eight periods, Scheifele has been announced as a game-time decision for the Jets' most important game of the season.

In the opening round, the Kitchener, ON native has scored two goals and six points in five games, ranking second on the team behind Kyle Connor. Following Games 1 and 2, the St. Louis Blues have done an excellent job of keeping him in check. Both of his goals and five of his points came within the first two games, and his other assist came in Game 5.

Despite that, Scheifele thrives on home ice, and if he can play, it'll be a major boost for the Jets. Not only could he affect the game in a positive manner, but he'd allow Adam Lowry to return to the third line and play as a shutdown centre.

The Jets are 3-0 on home ice this series, but anything can happen in Game 7s, and the Jets need any advantage they can get.
