Winnipeg Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi participated in practice today with full contact for the first time since sustaining his injury on Mar. 23.

The recovery process has been long for the 25-year-old, but the Jets have been understandably and wisely patient as he recovers. Vilardi first returned to skating on his own on Apr. 15, before joining the Jets for multiple practices without contact earlier this week.

Each time HC Scott Arniel has been asked about Vilardi's return, he's mentioned that he'll need to skate with the team with full contact. Today marks the first time, and it comes before a critical Game 4, after the St. Louis Blues dismantled the Jets in Game 3.

Although his status likely won't be revealed today, it's a positive sign that the Jets will be adding their 27-goal and 61-point scorer back in the lineup soon. His return will help the Jets' power play and allow certain players to fall lower in the lineup and into more comfortable roles.

He did not partake in line rushes, which tends to indicate he won't be returning for Sunday's afair.

Game 4 is set to commence on Sunday at noon Central Time in St. Louis.
