The Winnipeg Jets have several injury updates according to head coach Scott Arniel as the team continues its push toward the playoffs.
As reported by Jets colour analyst Mitchell Clinton, Arniel said that defensemen Neal Pionk and Colin Miller are on a “two days on, one or two days off” ice schedule as they continue their recovery. Arniel indicated that both players are progressing but are still a ways away from returning to the lineup.
It would be huge to get the pair of defenders back after the Jets dealt both Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn to the Buffalo Sabres and could use the added depth on the blue line as they push toward the playoffs.
Forward depth is also much needed, but luckily Vladislav Namestnikov and Nino Niederreiter got on the ice Tuesday for the first time since their injuries. Arniel said they’re also “a ways away.”
