Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dylan DeMelo is having an offseason to remember, as he welcomes his second child with his wife, Jessica, roughly a month after signing a four-year extension worth $19.6 million.
The DeMelos add another boy to the family, Eddie John DeMelo, after having their first child together in 2021, named Caleb.

When speaking to the Winnipeg Free Press about Caleb’s birth, DeMelo expressed how surreal the experience was to become a father.
“You try to play it out in your head how it’s going to be with the whole birthing process and the first few days being a dad and, I’ll just say the real thing doesn’t do it justice,” he said “An amazing moment for my wife and I and both of our families and we couldn’t be happier right now.”
The birth of Caleb came right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and likely made things more challenging than the birth of Eddie.

DeMelo is coming off a solid season where he led all Winnipeg skaters in blocked shots (139) and short-handed minutes played per game (2:35).
