The Winnipeg Jets open the 2023-24 season in Calgary on Wednesday.

The Winnipeg Jets will begin the 2023-24 season on the road in Calgary on Wednesday in the late-night showing.

The two teams will go to battle at 9:00 PM central time from the Scotiabank Saddledome in a game that can be viewed live on Sportsnet.

With the Jets having made final cuts on Monday, the 23-man roster has been set. Defenceman Declan Chisholm has cracked the squad, but will serve as the team's eighth defenceman behind Logan Stanley. It is expected that Dylan Samberg will play top-four minutes for Winnipeg, at least to start the year.

Gabe Vilardi will begin the year on the wing on the team's top line with newly extended Mark Scheifele and sniper Kyle Connor.

Cole Perfetti has won the No. 2 centreman's job and will be flanked by Nikolaj Ehlers and Nino Niederreiter.

Captain Adam Lowry will centre what may be the best third line in all of hockey, while newcomer Rasmus Kupari will rotate in between the likes of Morgan Barron, Vlad Namestnikov and David Gustafsson as things progress.

Fellow signee Connor Hellebuyck will get the nod between the pipes, while reigning Stanley Cup champ Laurent Brossoit will serve as his first mate.
