Despite a recent scoring lull, Barron's career year pace remains strong. His dependable bottom-six presence is vital for the Jets' playoff push.

Winnipeg Jets forward Morgan Barron is having a career year even though recent games have slowed his momentum. After a strong start to the season, Barron’s projections have dipped, but he remains on track to surpass his previous best.

In his first season with the Jets, Barron recorded 21 points in 70 games as so far this season, through 29 games, he had seven goals and five assists for 12 points. This put him on pace to exceed the 30-point mark for the first time in his career but over the last 12 games, however, he has recorded three assists and no goals.

Barron has remained an important part of the Jets lineup as he's helped anchor the fourth line for much of the season and provided timely scoring, including a hot streak in December where he scored four goals and added an assist in five games. His role as a dependable bottom-six forward has been valuable for a team that has leaned on depth at various points this season.

Even with a recent slump, Barron is still on track for a career-best season. If he can generate another hot streak or two, he could have a meaningful impact as the Jets pursue a playoff spot. Last season, Winnipeg won the Presidents’ Trophy with several players posting career years, and a strong season from Barron could be a key factor in another playoff push.
