We are back with another exciting addition of Can't-Miss OHL Games for week ten of the regular season. Most teams have played just over a third of their regular season games, and the playoff picture is starting to come into sharper focus.
Teams like London, Barrie, Kingston and Windsor have stamped their marks on the beginning portion of the season and set themselves up for success down the road. Other teams like Brampton have found themselves much lower in the standings than was expected.
As always, a brief reminder that can't-miss games are defined as games that feature interesting storylines, a great matchup or factors that are not common across the league that week.
Without further ado, here are the can't-miss games for week ten.
London Knights @ Peterborough/Kingston/Ottawa - Thursday/Friday/Sunday
In what is a first for this segment, we are going to list all London games this week as must-watch hockey. There are a couple of reasons for this.
Firstly, London is tearing through the rest of the league. They are on a 15-game winning streak and have yet to lose a game in November.
Secondly, Easton Cowan has the opportunity to beat Doug Gilmour's record for the longest OHL point streak this week. Unfortunately, he has missed a couple of practices and did not play against Ottawa last Sunday. If he plays, he will have the opportunity to match Gilmour's record against Peterborough and potentially take sole possession of the record against Kingston.
Finally, Sam Dickinson is a treat to watch right now. The San Jose Sharks prospect has been held off the board in only three games this season. He is currently ranked fourth in overall scoring while leading all defenders with 38 points in 21 games.
Guelph Storm @ Niagara IceDogs - Thursday, Nov. 28, 7:00 p.m.
The IceDogs, contrary to their name, were hot to start the season. They led the Eastern Conference for the beginning part of the year before cooling down and sliding down in the standings. They sit fourth in the East and have lost four of their last five games.
The last game between Guelph and Niagara resulted in a high-scoring affair that saw the Storm defeat the IceDogs 8-5.
For Niagara, this game is about getting back into the win column and getting the opportunity to settle the score against a team that beat them thoroughly in their last meeting. On the other side, Guelph is looking to string a couple of wins together and climb the Western Conference Standings.
It should be a fun game to watch between two talented young squads.
Kingston Frontenacs @ Oshawa Generals - Sunday, Dec. 1, 6:05 p.m.
Following up last week's Western Conference clash is a heavy-weight matchup between the current kings of the Eastern Conference.
Kingston currently sits atop the conference with Oshawa nipping at their heels. Just two points separate the teams.
There are heavy hitters on both teams. Beckett Sennecke, Calum Ritchie and Luca Marelli lead the Generals' side while Jacob Battaglia, University of Vermont commit Cedrick Guindon and Tuomas Uronen stand on the opposite side.
This is a clash between two incredibly talented teams loaded with NHL prospects. It should be very fun to watch.
If Oshawa wins there could be a new leader in the East while a win for Kingston fends off the up-and-coming Generals.
