Earlier today, the Ottawa 67's announced the signing of 2025 third-overall pick Brock Chitaroni to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. They also signed 2024 tenth-round pick Jaxson Williams who is the son of former NHLer Justin Williams

Team GM James Boyd noted that the organization continues to be impressed by Chitaroni's enthusiasm.

"We are all excited to officially welcome Brock to our organisation and to play a role in the next phase of his hockey journey," said Boyd.

Chitaroni led the Barrie Colts U-16 AAA squad in points last season, racking up 29 goals and 30 assists in 31 games.

It was his second year on the team, having played up a year during the 2023-24. In 35 games that year, he scored 32 goals and added 18 assists to finish sixth on the team in points.

Nathan Amidovski, one of two Ottawa first-round picks in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection, was also a member of that same 2023-24 Colts roster.

Brock Chitaroni, who was born in 2009, is the fourth member of his family to play for an OHL team. His father, Terry Chitaroni, played for the Sudbury Wolves in the late 1980s and captained the team during the 1991-92 season.

It is the second year in a row that the Generals have won the Bobby Orr Trophy.

Terry's sons, Mason and Hudson Chitaroni, have also played for the Sudbury Wolves. Mason played three games for Sudbury during the 2023-24 season, while Hudson played for the Wolves throughout last season.

In addition to signing Chitaroni, Ottawa also announced the commitment of 2024 tenth-round pick Jaxon Williams. The 2008-born forward hailing from Cary, North Carolina, scored 32 goals and added 38 assists for a total of 70 points in 51 games played for the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes 16-U AAA program.

"His game has shown continual progression, and we are pleased that Jaxon has chosen the 67's for the next phase of his hockey development," said Boyd.

Williams is the son of former NHLer Justin Williams, who was otherwise known as "Mr. Game 7" due to his uncanny ability to be a difference maker in those vaunted series-deciding games. Williams won three Stanley Cups during his NHL career, playing 1264 games before retiring as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Ottawa is well on its road to rebuilding if these two signings are anything to go by. It will be interesting to see how the summer continues in the nation's capital.
