Erie Otter's defenseman has been handed a two-game suspension due to his actions on Oct. 26 alongside a couple of Kitchener Rangers forwards

The Erie Otters and Kitchener Rangers clashed against one another this past Saturday, Oct. 26.

The Rangers kept their point streak rolling with a 4-3 overtime win. Three players from this game were thrown out and later handed suspensions from the OHL.

The most notable suspension was given to Ty Henry, an Erie Otters defenseman and Chicago Blackhawks 2024 sixth-round, 163rd-overall draft pick.

With 8:19 left to play in the third period, Henry got turned around on the zone entry and reached in with his stick, prompting him to hook his man down to the ice. He was less than pleased with the call as he thought the Kitchener forward embellished to draw the penalty.

Regardless, the penalty was called and Henry clearly had some choice words for the officials on his way to and in the penalty box. The second-year defender was given another penalty for abuse of officials and game misconduct, ending his night.

The OHL announced on Monday that the Chicago Blackhawks sixth-rounder has been suspended two games for abuse of officials.

Henry will miss the Erie Otters' next two games this weekend against tough Eastern Conference opponents, Brantford and Barrie. He is eligible to return on Nov. 7 when the Otters face the red-hot Niagara IceDogs.

The 6-foot-3 smooth-skating defenseman was most likely still running hot from a play that happened a couple of minutes prior.

Henry went back to retrieve the puck behind the net and was clipped up high in the head by a chicken wing elbow from Kitchener forward Jack LaBrash. The hit drew some blood off Ty and LaBrash was given a five-minute game misconduct for checking to the head.

The OHL has subsequently suspended LaBrash for two games for his hit. He is eligible to return for the Rangers' game against Saginaw on Nov. 3.

Now, before all of this happened in the third period, there was another five-minute major game misconduct penalty handed out back in the first period.

Rangers forward Justin Bottineau on the forecheck finished his check on Erie defenseman Nicholas Holomego but caught his head while it was down looking at the puck. Instead of finishing his hit through the shoulders of the defender, the principal point of contact appeared to be on Holomego's head.

Bottineau will have to sit alongside his Rangers teammate in the press box for the next couple of games as well after the OHL announced a two-game suspension for Justin due to his check to the head.
