The blueliner flips from his previous commitment to Robert Morris University.

Another NCAA commitment has dropped, with Erie Otters captain Tristen Trevino flipping his commitment to Bowling Green State University from Robert Morris University, he announced via his X/Twitter account this morning.

Trevino, 20, is in his overage OHL season, and his second as captain of the Otters. The big defensive blueliner has three assists in 11 games this campaign, after having 26 (4+22) points in 67 games last year.

The Beverly Hills, MI, native, came up through the Little Caesers program in Detroit, before moving to the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite system up to the U18 level, where he also got a couple NAHL games in for both the Philadelphia Rebels and Bismack Bobcats.

In 2024-25, he joined the Bobcats full-time, where he had a goal and 20 assists in 51 games. Trevino also got into four games with the USHL's Sioux City Musketeers that season.

His play there alongside his leadership qualities got the 6-foot-4 blueliner an OHL deal with Erie, where he was soon named the captain of the group, which remained true this season.

Back in 2024, he committed to join Robert Morris, but he's now decided to flip that in favour of Bowling Green, where he'll head next season following his overage OHL campaign.
