The Philadelphia Flyers have signed their 2024 first round draft pick

The entry-level contracts continued to get signed. Guelph Storm centerman Jett Luchanko has put pen to paper and signed with the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

Philadelphia recently drafted Luchanko 13th overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The 5-foot-11 center has been drawing comparisons to long-time Flyers captain, Claude Giroux.

As per Puck Pedia, Luchanko’s three-year contract is worth $2.93 million with an annual cap hit of $975,000, the league maximum for an entry-level contract.

The Philadelphia prospect will receive a $97,500 signing bonus in all three years of the deal and can earn up to $400,000 in performance bonus in year one, $500,000 in year two, and $600,000 in year three.

Jett finished the OHL 2023-24 season with 20 goals, 54 assists, and 74 points, fifth-most by a first-year NHL draft-eligible player. He took 1,335 faceoffs (second-most in the league) with a 49.7 winning percentage.

If the Guelph Storm can provide more offensive support around him for next season, you can expect Philadelphia’s first-rounder to inch close to that 100-point plateau. But, if Guelph struggles, expect the Flyers to push the Storm into trading Luchanko to a contending team.

Luchanko is the tenth player from the 2024 draft class and the third OHL player to sign, following Zayne Parekh and Beckett Sennecke
