The Barrie Colts make an add at forward with the acquisition of young winger Anthony Figliomeni
The Oshawa Generals have traded forward Anthony Figliomeni to the Barrie Colts in exchange for a Barrie fourth-round pick in the 2030 OHL Priority Selection.
Figliomeni, to be 18 tomorrow, has spent the past two seasons with Oshawa, a fourth round pick of the Generals in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection, 65th overall.
The September 2008-born Figliomeni had six goals, seven assists, & 13 points in 55 games last season. In 70 career OHL games, Figliomeni has eight goals, nine assists, & 17 points.
Figliomeni played his youth hockey in the Toronto area, having been in the GTHL with the Toronto Marlboros in his draft year, scoring 17 goals and 49 points in 56 games on a team that included draft picks Adam Valentini, Pierce Mbuyi, & Harris Pangretitsch.
As a hard-working winger, Figliomeni has clear upside and should easily find a role in the Colts bottom-six, but with his age has the room to grow his game to move higher up into the lineup.
This is the second trade by Oshawa in recent days, having acquired Colorado Avalanche defenseman prospect Linus Funck from the London Knights for a second and third round picks, the Swede dealt for London to sign fellow Swedish import Marcus Nordmark.
Oshawa also acquired former top-10 OHL pick Caden Taylor from the Owen Sound Attack on Aug. 28th, another addition to the Generals forward depth.
