Another Peterborough player has been given the hammer by the league, resulting in another eight-game suspension.
Braydon McCallum has been assessed an eight-game suspension for his slash to the back of the head of Owen Sound Attack defenseman John Banks. The full details pertaining to the league’s reasoning for the suspension can be found here.
Similar to Luke Dragusica’s season-ending suspension for his slash, the league stated, “This was a reckless and wild swing of a stick that showed willful negligence in regard to the safety of an opponent.”
McCallum’s swing hit the back of Bank’s head. Fortunately for McCallum, his swing did not make contact with Bank’s face, nor did it appear to be intentional like Dragusica’s swing. If it had, McCallum might have faced suspension for the rest of the season and the playoffs.
