Brantford Bulldogs forward Nick Lardis can't stop scoring this season. He's the first to hit the 40-goal mark this season in the OHL and the three leagues that make up the Canadian Hockey League.
The first player to hit the 40-goal mark in the OHL and the entire Canadian Hockey League belongs to a Chicago Blackhawks prospect.
On Saturday, Jan. 25, Brantford Bulldogs forward Nick Lardis scored his 40th and 41st of the year.
The Blackhawks prospect has showcased his elite sniping ability all season long. Chicago must be licking their lips as they watch his development this year, considering adding another shooter to their lineup in the coming years is exactly what they need.
His first goal of the night displayed his shooting skillset of being able to change the angle of his shot.
Lardis catches the pass and brings the puck closer into his body to ensure his shot gets through the defender who is closing in on him. That's what great shooters can do.
His second goal was maybe one of the luckiest and flukiest goals you'll see. But hey, they don't ask how, they ask how many right?
Lardis is on a seven-game goal streak with nine goals during his hot stretch. He leads the league in game-winning goals with seven and is tied with North Bay captain Ethan Procyszyn and Ottawa 67's captain Luca Pinelli for the league lead in powerplay goals (14).
Additionally, he leads the OHL and CHL in shots on goal with 244. He's averaging almost six shots per game.
Unfortunately for Lardis and his Bulldogs, the Barrie Colts halted their eight-game winning streak, as they lost their Saturday tilt 6-3.
