Toronto Maple Leafs star prospect Easton Cowan's incredible regular season point streak comes to a close Friday night, Feb. 7, against the Peterborough Petes.

On Friday night, Feb. 7, the London Knights hosted the last-place Peterborough Petes, their first game since becoming the first team in the OHL this season to clinch a playoff berth

London Knights superstar forward and Toronto Maple Leafs first-rounder Easton Cowan went into the game riding a 65-game regular season point streak dating back to last season.

In this contest, he hit a crossbar in the third period and set up his linemates on a 2-on-0, which they could not capitalize on.

As the final buzzer echoed through the arena, Cowan's remarkable point streak came to a close at 65 games, marking an unforgettable chapter in junior hockey history.

“It was going to happen one day,” Cowan told London Free Press reporter Ryan Pyette after the game. “I’m just happy we got this win. Good teams find a way.”

The 19-year-old in his third full year in the OHL has scored 18 goals, four of which are game-winners, and 40 points through 30 games this season.

He has missed time due to representing Canada at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship and with injuries that have kept him out of the lineup for a game or two here and there.

During those 65 games, Cowan scored 41 goals, recorded 44 multi-point games, and finished with 106 points.

It was eventually going to end, but his point streak will go down in history. However, the OHL won't recognize it because it lasted two seasons

London ended up taking care of business and defeated the Petes 3-1, thanks to goals by Kasper Halttunen, Jared Woolley, and Evan Van Gorp.
