Rimouski Océanic star forward is ending his QMJHL tenure one season early, foregoing his overage season to commit to the University of Connecticut for the 2025-26 season.
Blais, 19, is coming off of a 73-point (20+53), 60-game season with the Memorial Cup host Océanic. He'd continue his strong play in the post-season, with 20 points (5+15) through 23 games while being one of the team's best two-way forwards.
All-in-all, the 2024 fourth round pick by the Anaheim Ducks is finishing his four season QMJHL career with 207 points (53+154) across 213 games, all in Rimouski -- who had drafted him in the second round of the 2021 QMJHL entry draft.

Blais is a massive loss for a team who will likely be in a full rebuild after their Memorial Cup push and subsequent loss last season.
