Julius Sumpf's 2024/25 campaign was truly remarkable.

Setting career highs in goals, assists and points with 65 points (26+39) over 56 games for third in points on the Wildcats before leading the Cats in playoff goals with 10 to help win the QMJHL championship, leading Team Germany with seven points (2+5) at the World Juniors, getting drafted in the fourth round to the Chicago Blackhawks as a double re-entry was quite the bookend to a storybook season.

As it turns out, it also will serve as the conclusion to Sumpf's junior career as he has decided to forego his overage season to join the NCAA's Providence College next season.

Sumpf, 20, had amassed 120 points (47+73) through 117 QMJHL games, all with the Wildcats, who had signed him as an undrafted free agent.

He leaves the QMJHL a champion, the league's leader in +/- last year and as a former winner of the QMJHL's sportsmanship trophy.
