2025 NHL draft eligible left winger Reece Peitzsche of the Shawinigan Cataractes heads home, getting dealt along side a ninth round pick to the Cape Breton Eagles in exchange for a third round pick and a ninth round pick.

Peitzsche, 18, is coming off of a 23 point (8+15) season with the Cataractes.

The former 2022 second round pick by the Halifax Mooseheads has amassed 60 points (28+32) through 190 games in his QMJHL career thus far. Of which, he's collected 36 points (15+21) over 87 games with the Cataractes.

Per Eastlink's Greg Macdonald, Peitzsche had specifically requested a trade to play closer to home. Hopefully this can bring the youngster added confidence and opportunity to truly break out.
