Despite selling off a lot of key players, the Rimouski Océanic still want to ice a competitive team next year. In doing so, they've enlisted the help of 2006-born defenseman Evan Depatie, who they've just acquired from the Val-d'Or Foreurs for a fourth round pick.
Depatie, 18, is coming off of a career-year, scoring 33 points (5+28) through 53 games with the Val-d'Or Foreurs.
The former 2022 third round pick has amassed 126 regular season games in the QMJHL, scoring 48 points (5+28) through three seasons.
