The Czech forward has made the choice to pursue other ventures.
Cape Breton Eagles import forward Adam Klaus has decided to depart the team effective immediately, it was announced on Monday.
Klaus, 18, was in his second season with the Eagles. In 11 games, he scored one goal and two assists. Last season, the Kladno, Czechia native put up 24 (8+16) points in 59 games.
The 6-foot tall winger was selected in the second round of the 2025 import draft, and joined Cape Breton immediately after that. He has experience playing internationally for Czechia at multiple levels, including the Youth Olympics, U16, U17 and U18 teams.

It's possible his departure is to search for a spot where he can play higher up the lineup to further develop his game.
For Cape Breton, this leaves them with an open import spot in a year they're really going for it. While the start of the season was rocky, they've been in much better form of late, currently riding a three-game win streak as the team looks to climb the table in the Eastern conference.
While it's not expected for GM Sylvain Couturier to immediately replace Klaus, it should be expected the team will make a move to acquire a third import to go alongside Elias Schnaider and Maxim Schafer sometime in the winter trade period.
