There's something in the water in Charlottetown, and it's certainly a good thing as Maxwell Jardine becomes the third Islanders player to win the Humanitarian Player of the Year Trophy for community involvement over the past five seasons, following Brett Budgell (in 2022) and Marcus Kearsey (in 2024).
He's helped fundraise for Special Olympics PEI and Make-a-Wish, participated in anti-bullying campaigns with Crime Stoppers, involved in minor hockey events and academies, among others.
A feat all the more impressive given this is his first full season in the QMJHL, as he had joined the team mid-way through last year.

Nominees for the trophy included Rimouski's Jacob Mathieu and Baie-Comeau's Anthony Lavoie.
