The Charlottetown Islanders announced on Twitter/X that they have acquired overage defenseman Thomas Sirman from the Ottawa 67's of the OHL.

Sirman, 20, had two points (0+2) over four games to start his 2024-25 campaign and was dropped in favour of the return of fellow defenseman, St. Louis Blues prospect Matthew Mayich, goaltender Colin MacKenzie and left winger Will Gerrior.

This was his fourth season of OHL play, amassing 65 points (12+53) over 164 games -- all with the 67's.

Sirman notably won the Roger Neilson award for top academic player (college/university) last season, marking the fourth 67's player over the last six seasons to win the award.

He'll replace fellow OHL defector Madden Steen who left the Islanders this past week after notching just one point (0+1) over just six games.
