The Halifax Mooseheads have announced today that they have signed defenseman Mathieu Taillefer.

Taillefer, 18, has been playing with the Brooks Bandits of the BCHL where he's amassed 10 points (1+9) across 18 games.

He joins the Mooseheads who had drafted him in 95th overall in the fourth round of the 2022 QMJHL Draft.

He'll look to provide a short term solution to the No. 13 Mooseheads as they struggle to maintain the momentum they had to start the season.

He's committed to join the Penn State Nittany Lions for the 2025-26 season.

Mathieu is the second of the Taillefer brothers to make the move to the QMJHL, following his younger brother Alexandre who joined the Remparts earlier this month.
