After helping the Moncton Wildcats win a QMJHL championship, Maxime Cote will not return to the Wildcats for his overage season, as the forward has been dealt to the Gatineau Olympiques in exchange for a third round pick.
Cote, 20, is coming off of a 42-point (19+23) season between the Sherbrooke Phoenix, where he was an alternate captain, and later the Moncton Wildcats. Cote was a former 11th round selection in 2021 by the Phoenix and has been able to work his way up to a 63-point (31+32), 168-game QMJHL career thus far.
The Olympiques should expect Cote's production to climb, while he remains a responsible and gritty player .

Cote has yet to secure a commitment to any USports or NCAA programs, however continued progression should guarantee the opportunity to play collegiate hockey in the US if he wants it.
