Each week, the QMJHL names a "Team of the Week" honoring the league's top players. Three forwards, two defensemen, and one goaltender are selected each week, based on their gameplay from the previous week.

    Team of the Week

For the week of October 23-29, 2023, the following players from five different QMJHL teams were chosen:

    Forwards

    • Markus Vidicek, Halifax Mooseheads (4G/5A, +4)
    • Justin Gill, Baie-Comeau Drakkar (2G/5A, +6)
    • Jordan Dumais, Halifax Mooseheads (3G/5A, +7)

    Defensemen

    • Tomas Lavoie, Cape Breton Eagles (2G/1A, +1)
    • Vsevolod Komarov, Quebec Remparts (0G/4A, -1)

    Goaltender

    • Nathan Darveau, Victoriaville Tigres ( 2-0-1-0, SV% 0.950, GAA 1.65)

    Player of the Week

In addition, the league announces a weekly "Videotron Player of the Week" to acknowledge the top player in the QMJHL. This week, the honor goes to Victoriaville Tigres goaltender Nathan Darveau.

In three games played this week, Darveau posted an admirable 1.65 GAA, combined with a .950 save percentage, with two wins and one overtime loss.

The 20-year-old and his Victoriaville teammates found themselves trailing 2-1 after two periods in their game on Friday night, but the goaltender made 21 saves in the third period to give his teammates a chance to put the puck into the Shawinigan Cataractes net a number of times and secure the win.

During the second game of the home-and-home, Darveau backstopped the Tigres to another victory by turning aside the puck 32 times in the team's 3-1 defeat of Shawinigan.

The two weekend wins catapulted Victoriaville into a first-place tie with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the Western Conference. This is the second time in as many weeks that Darveau has been tapped as the league's top goaltender. He was also named to last week's QMJHL Team of the Week.
