Victoriaville never gave up, and managed one of the most improbable comeback victories in QMJHL history.
There were just four games on Sunday are the opening weekend of the 2026-27 QMJHL season came to a close, but they sure weren't short on action.
There were records broken all across the league, from Donald Hickey's saves to Victoriaville's comeback.
For this, let's focus in on the Tigres coming back from the death.

That's the question many people have been asking today, after the Victoriaville Tigres pulled off an unthinkable win over the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
It all seemed to be going well for the Volts on the road. Jayden Rousseau and Hugo Dufour found the net in the first, giving the visiting side a nice cushion heading into the first intermission. In the second, Dufour doubled down, before Owen Ronson, Eliott Belzil and Derik Morin all tallied in what looked like a rout at the halfway point of the game.
But, it all changed after that. Zack Miller got one back just 30 seconds after the 6-0 goal, before a trio of power play goals from Xavier Lebel, Alexis Guevin and Thomas Desruisseaux chopped the lead down to 6-4 heading into the third.
The Tigres picked up where they left off in the final frame, with Deryk Lemaire, Alexis Desroches each scoring within the opening five minutes to tie the game. Lemaire would double down to give the hosts their first lead of the game in improbable fashion.
That wouldn't be it, though. Maxime-Olivier Drolet found the twine on the power play, evening the game up once again at seven with just over eight minutes to go.
But, Victoriaville would strike again. Egor Shilov, poised to have a massive season, showed up big time with a game-winner with just under three minutes to go in the third.
The Tigres would hold on from there, and leave the home fans speechless with an unbelievable come-from-behind victory.
