After coming up short at the Memorial Cup, the Rimouski Océanic have seemingly plunged themselves into a rebuild. As such, as part of this 'new look' the 'Nics have acquired overage centerman Emile Duquet from the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in exchange for a seventh round pick.
Duquet, 20, is coming off of a 21-point (8+13), 62-game season with the Sags, finishing 12th on the team in scoring last season.
The 5-foot-10 forward has played in four seasons in the QMJHL since being selected in the fifth round of the 2021 QMJHL draft by the Saguenéens. So far, he's tallied 71 points (30+41) over 201 games, all in Chicoutimi. Duquet marked his career high in points in 2023-24, nothcing 25 points (13+12).

The team is likely hoping that a change of scenery might be exactly what the Saint-Anselme, Quebec native needs to find his game.
As of right now, Duquet is currently uncommitted to any USports or NCAA program.
