    Saint John Sea Dogs defenseman Nate Tivey has committed to the NCAA program, the Quinnipiac Bobcats for the 2025-26 season.

    The overager had 40 points (5+35) this season across 63 games this season, while wearing both the 'A' and eventually earning the 'C' this season.

    The 6-foot-5 blueliner joined the QMJHL three seasons ago as a free agent from the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. He has since played in 192 games, all with the Sea Dogs, scoring 92 points (11+81). 

    Tivey is a former fourth overall pick in the OHL's U-18 priority selection draft in 2021 by the Guelph Storm.
