The Saint John Sea Dogs have made a big splash, signing future University of Denver commitment and 2025 NHL draft eligible prospect Alexander Donovan to a contract for the 2025-26 season.

Donovan, 18, spent the majority of year playing on the US prep circuit with Shattuck St. Mary's, scoring 91 points (45+46) over 58 games. He also appeared in two USHL games with the Sioux Falls Stampede, going point-less.

The 5-foot-11 right winger has represented the United States internationally, scoring at a point-per-game rate (1+4) at the Hlinka-Gretzky last August,

He also was a former first overall pick in the QMJHL's 2023 American Draft by the now defunct Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
