This season saw the CHL drop the Top Prospects Game, opting instead for the two-game CHL/USA Hockey Challenge, which pits the top 20 CHL prospects against the USA Hockey National Team Development Program.
In doing so, only to QMJHL players in Caleb Desnoyers and Justin Carbonneau had the opportunity to perform in front of dozens of NHL scouts and even general managers.
As a result, the league has a made a stand by announcing the debut of the QMJHL Prospects game, starting next September in Sherbrooke.
Taking place September 13th, the 40-player event will take place before the start of the season and will feature talents that are eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft.
The QMJHL is now the second league after the OHL to announce an individual prospect game, whose game will occur later this season.
Even though we are over half a year out from the event, one should expect the likes of former QMJHL first overall pick, Quebec Remparts's C Maddox Dagenais (16 in 16), Blainville-Boisbriand Armada's D Xavier Villeneuve (29 in 29) and Rouyn-Noranda Huskies' import LW Lars Steiner (36 in 29).
