    Kickstarting the 2025-26 season, the Hlinka-Gretzky cup is set to ta begin tomorrow, August 11th in Czechia and Slovakia tomorrow. The tournament is a showcase for the top 2008-born prospects, many of whom are eligbile for the 2026 NHL draft. The QMJHL will have six representatives at the tournament, across four national teams.

    Team Canada

    RW Thomas Rousseau (Sherbrooke Phoenix)

    • 2024-25: 40 points (17+23) over 58 games
    • 2026 NHL draft eligible

    D Cameron Chartrand (Saint John)

    • 2024-25 (16U AAA): 52 points (6+46) over 54 games
    • 2026 NHL draft eligible

    C Tynan Lawrence (Chicoutimi Saguenéens via Muskegon Lumberjacks)

    • 2024-25 (USHL): 54 points (25+29) over 56 games
    • 2026 NHL draft eligible
    Three QMJHL Affiliated Players Named To Canadian Hlinka-Gretzky Roster Three QMJHL Affiliated Players Named To Canadian Hlinka-Gretzky Roster Team Canada has just unveiled its <a href="https://www.hlinkagretzkycup.ca/en-ca/season/2025/stats/team-rosters?teamid=306">roster </a>for the Hlinka-Gretzky U18 tournament which begins Monday, August 11th. Of the 25 players named to the roster, three are QMJHL affiliated.

    Team Slovakia

    LW Juraj Jonas Durco (Charlottetown Islanders)

    • 2024-25 (SVK U20): 28 points (14+14) over 29 games
    • 2026 NHL draft eligible

    Team Switzerland

    LW Raphael Achermann (Rimouski Océanic)

    • 2024-25 (Swiss U20): 25 points (12+13) over 43 games
    • 2026 NHL draft eligible

    C Maxime Sauthier (Cape Breton Eagles)

    • 2024-25 (Swiss U20): 27 points (11+16) over 42 games
    • 2026 NHL draft eligible
