Team Canada has just unveiled its roster for the Hlinka-Gretzky U18 tournament which begins Monday, August 11th. Of the 25 players named to the roster, three are QMJHL affiliated.
First is Sherbrooke Phoenix forward Thomas Rousseau. The former 13th overall pick by Sherbrooke is coming off of a 40-point rookie campaign (17+23) through 58 games. The 5-foot-10 right winger is poised to make a greater impact and become a top 2026 NHL draft prospect to watch.

Joining him is Saint John Sea Dogs defenseman Cameron Chartrand. Chartrand, 17, is a right-shot dman who is coming off of a 45-point (6+39), 49-game season with the Bishop Kearney Selects on the U16 AAA circuit. The 2024 18th overall pick had just signed with the Sea Dogs this past March. He, too, will look to build a worthy enough resume to get a call at the NHL draft this summer.

As for the third QMJHL affiliated player to make the team, Chicoutimi's 2024 10th overall pick Tynan Lawrence is coming off of a wicked 54-point USHL campaign, leading the Muskegon Lumberjacks to a championship.
