Despite the large shift of players committing to NCAA programs this season, USports programs have still been able to land some pretty big fish.

The University of New Brunswick Reds have just landed forward Braeden MacPhee of the Halifax Mooseheads for the 2025-26 season, completing a five year major junior career.

MacPhee, 20, is coming off a career high 28-point (16+12), 59-game season with the Halifax Mooseheads as one of the young team's very few veteran players. Altogether, MacPhee has tallied 55 points (28+27) through 198 QMJHL games, all with the Mooseheads.

While production has never been his strongsuit, the esteemed program lands a player who has a nose for the net and and a high motor who is willing to engage physically and wins puck battles consistently.
