The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced that forward Cam Atkinson has been recalled from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. In addition, the Lightning have shared that goaltender Brandon Halverson has been re-assigned to the Crunch.
Atkinson, 35, signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with the Lightning this past summer. This was shortly after the Philadelphia Flyers bought out the Riverside, Connecticut native.
Atkinson has primarily been a depth forward while with the Lightning this season. In 38 games this campaign, the veteran winger has four goals, five assists, and a minus-4 rating.
Halverson, 28, was recalled by the Lightning last week and appeared in his first NHL game since the 2017-18 season during his call-up with Tampa Bay. During that start against the Utah Hockey Club on March 22, the Traverse City, Michigan native allowed five goals on 24 shots in a loss.
Halverson has had a strong year down in the AHL with the Crunch this campaign, posting a 16-9-8 record, a .913 save percentage, and a 2.32 goals-against average in 34 games.
