The Chicago Steel have traded three players in advance of the USHL Fall Classic, including former tender signing Lukas Sawchyn.

The Chicago Steel have completed a trio of trades in advance of the 2024-25 regular season, which will kick off on Friday at the USHL Fall Classic.

The Steel dealt forward Lukas Sawchyn to the Green Bay Gamblers in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2025 Phase I Draft and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 Phase II Draft. In addition, the Steel are receiving a conditional second-round pick in the 2026 Phase I Draft.

Sawchyn was originally signed to a tender agreement in April 2023. However, the Denver commit recorded just 15 points on four goals and 11 assists in 60 games for Chicago in 2023-24.

In a separate deal, the Steel sent defenseman Shayne Gould to the Sioux City Musketeers in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2025 Phase I Draft. The 17-year-old blueliner was originally selected in the third round, No. 45 overall, of the 2023 Futures Draft.

Finally, Chicago dealt forward Miroslav Satan to the Sioux Falls Stampede in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2025 Phase I Draft. The 18-year-old, listed at 6-foot-7 and 190 pounds, skated above his age group with the HC Slovan Bratislava U20 team in Slovakia, where he posted 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points in only 26 games.

Satan was drafted in the seventh round, No. 212 overall, by the Washington Capitals of the 2024 NHL Draft.
