The Dubuque Fighting Saints pulled away late in the third period to take Friday's preseason game over the Chicago Steel. Here are my standouts and top performers.

    #23 Cooper Dennis, F (Dubuque)

Dennis scored his first and second goals of the preseason on Friday night. The Michigan commit scored on a beautiful give-and-go play in the second period before adding his second tally via a one-timer on the backdoor. Dennis finished tied for a team-high three shots on goal.

    #19 Josh Giuliani, F (Dubuque)

Giuliani picked up a goal and an assist on Friday night, notably scoring on a rocket from a play in transition. The Dubuque forward then collected the primary assist on Dennis' second goal after Colin Frank forced a turnover below the net.

    #10 Jonathan Morello, F (Dubuque)

Morello did a little bit of everything on Friday night. The Toronto native recorded two points and dropped the gloves with Chicago's Noah Lapointe, which ultimately led to a 5v3 power play for Dubuque, on which Morello scored.

    #14 Luke Goukler, F (Chicago)

The Steel are loaded with a lot of young talent, and Goukler is definitely within that group. The Merrimack commit flashed his speed and scored on a tough in the first period. Goukler finished tied for a team-high three shots on goal and was consistently a play-driver on Friday

    #20 Henry Major, F (Chicago)

Major had a really nice read in the Saints' defensive zone to intercept a pass, and he found himself all alone in front of the net. The Cornell commit took his time but wired a shot into the back of the net to tie the game at three. Major registered two shots on goal on Friday night.

These two teams will meet again on Saturday in Chicago.
