The coaches for the 2025 Chipotle All-American Game were announced Wednesday afternoon as Ryan Cruthers will lead Team White and Andy Brandt will lead Team Blue.
Cruthers is the first Sioux Falls coach since Scott Owens (2020) to be named a head coach at the event. The 40-year-old currently has the Stampede (21-6-1-1) atop the Western Conference with 44 points and Sioux Falls owns the USHL’s top win percentage at .759.
The Herd have won five straight and nine of their past 10, and they’re doing it in Cruthers first season leading the bench. The New York native spent the 2022-23 season in Sioux Falls as an assistant and was named head coach last April.
As for Brandt, the 41-year-old is in his second with the Capitols and continues to impress. After finishing the 2022-23 season with the USHL’s worst record, Madison made the playoffs last spring and is currently third in the Eastern Conference at 16-9-2-1.
The Caps have dropped five straight but they've been one of the USHL’s top teams through 28 games, especially defensively. Madison has allowed the league’s fourth-fewest goals (86) and it was just 61 through their first 23.
Cruthers will be joined by Dubuque assistant Rory Dynan and honorary coach Robert Esche on the Team White staff, while Fargo assistant Jimmy Spratt and Hockey Hall of Famer Jeremy Roenick round out Team Blue’s staff.
The 2025 All-American Game is next Thursday (Jan. 16) at 6 p.m. CDT and will be televised on NHL Network. The game will be played at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.
