Anthony Cardilli had four goals and 11 points in 47 games for the Chicago Steel in his first USHL season last year. The St. Cloud commit will get a fresh start in Green Bay.

The Green Bay Gamblers have acquired speedy forward Anthony Cardilli from the Chicago Steel in exchange for a 2025 Phase I fifth-round draft pick.

Cardilli, initially drafted by Chicago No. 15 overall in the 2023 USHL Phase II Draft, skated in 47 games with the Steel last season, recording 11 points on four goals and seven assists. The Chicago native also saw action in one playoff game.

Prior to the Steel, Cardilli was a standout performer at Mount St. Charles Academy. Skating with the 18U team in 2022-23, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound center tallied 20 goals and 13 assists. His 33 points were the seventh-most on the roster.

Cardilli, in his first year of draft eligibility, went undrafted in the 2024 NHL Draft. In January, he was ranked as the No. 164 North American skater in Central Scouting's mid-term rankings. However, he fell out of the final rankings in April.

Prior to being traded, Cardilli recently skated in the Steel's annual Development Camp.

For the Gamblers, this marks the second consecutive summer in which they have bolstered the forward group after acquiring Ben Poitras last year. The Northeastern commit went on to post career highs in goals (20), assists (33), and points (53) with Green Bay in 2023-24.

Including Poitras, the Gamblers are expected to see their top six forwards moving onto the next level.

Cardilli will face his old team for the first time when the Chicago Steel and Green Bay Gamblers meet up for a home-and-home series, beginning on Friday, November 1, at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
