OMAHA, Neb. – For the first time in 112 days, the Omaha Lancers emerged victorious Saturday night, thanks to a 4-3 overtime win over Tri-City.

Chris Battaini buried a Tanner Morgan feed at the side of the crease with 1:08 left in the extra session, lifting the home side to the win. It’s Omaha’s first win since Nov. 16, 2024 and snapped a 30-game (0-26-3-1) losing streak.

Battaini, who is committed to Merrimack, has four goals and nine points in a Lancer sweater. Morgan also had three points (2-1-3) in Saturday's win while Aiden McKenna made 26 saves between the pipes.

It’s Omaha’s first win under Ron Fogarty, who was named the Lancers’ next head coach on Feb. 13.

Omaha (7-36-5-1) remains at the bottom of the USHL standings with 20 points – 17 behind the next closest team (Chicago). Omaha is mathematically eliminated from the postseason too as the Lancers are 32 points out of a playoff spot with 13 games left.

Yet they’ll try to finish strong and perhaps build some momentum for the 2025-26 season.

Omaha has a quick turnaround as Sioux Falls comes to town on Sunday. Sunday’s game is set for a 4:05 p.m. faceoff at Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
