David Gregory and Pat Cullen will represent NHL Scouting at the combines. The Phase II Combine will take place Apr. 17-20, and the Phase I combine is May 1-4.

The Player Development Combine will be held July 17-20.

“The USHL has put a lot of resources into its product, and it’s showing,” Cullen said on NHL Draft Class in May 2024. “The USHL is a must-see league and it’s a must-see league for kids to try to get to. They’ve made a commitment to stepping up their commitment to the players.”

The Phase I Combine features players in their 2009 and 2010 birth years. Phase II is for kids in their 2007 and 2008 birth years. The Player Development Combine is for players in their 2011 and 2012 birth years.

Cullen will attend and present at the Phase II Combine, while Gregory will do the same at the Phase I Combine.

The combines give USHL and NCAA personnel opportunities to evaluate talent before the USHL Draft on May 5 and 6. This year, more than 1,000 players born between 2007 and 2012 are expected to attend the three combines.

Players who are interested in attending must complete a USHL Player Questionnaire. All participants are pre-screened and scouted by the league’s central scouting staff before receiving an invitation.

Now in their 15th year, the combines provide prospects with a platform to showcase their skills in front of league personnel while learning about the USHL development path.
