

On Monday, the USHL handed out its Players of the Week awards for games played from Dec. 11-14. Artemi Nizameyev of the Tri-City Storm, Lukas Peterson of the Green Bay Gamblers and AJ Reyelts of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders have been named USHL Players of the Week.
Nizameyev earns Forward of the Week honors. The NCAA’s Miami University commit registered two goals and two helpers in Friday night’s 5-2 victory over the Lincoln Stars, finishing the game with a +4 rating. The native of Chelyabinsk, Russia added a goal and an assist Saturday in the Storm’s loss to Lincoln, extending his goal streak to six games.
Heading into the holiday break, Nizameyev leads the USHL in points (38) and goals (22). He holds a two-point edge over Sioux City’s Landen Gunderson.
Peterson was named Defenseman of the Week after picking up five assists in Green Bay’s 5-2 win over the Youngstown Phantoms on Thursday. It was the most assists by any USHL player in a game this season.
To top it off, Peterson added two more helpers in the Gamblers’ 8-3 loss to the Phantoms on Friday. The University of Maine commit combined for seven shots on the week.
Reyelts, a Proctor, Minn. Native, earned Goalie of the Week honors. The Lindenwood University native stopped 14 of 15 shots in Friday’s 4-1 win over the Chicago Steel. On Saturday, Reyelts made 23 saves in a 2-1 victory over Chicago. He finished the weekend 2-0-0 with a .946 save percentage and 1.00 goals-against average.
