The Sioux City Musketeers announced Wednesday they have traded forward Jackson Crowder to the Chicago Steel in exchange for a 2025 Phase II third-round draft pick.
Crowder recorded 10 points (5-5-10) in 31 games and an even plus/minus for the Musketeers this season.
The 17-year-old Ohio State commit has played in 35 total games for Sioux City. He was listed in the pre-season edition of the NHL Central Scouting list as a preliminary player to watch and given a W-rating, which indicates a sixth- to seventh-round draft candidate.
The native of Allen, TX was selected to play in the recent USHL Chipotle All-American game. He dished out an assist in that contest.
At 6-foot-2, 183 pounds, the right-shot forward creates a strong physical presence, but is still developing his speed and play-making ability at the center position.
Crowder joined the Steel on Wednesday and is expected to be available for the coming weekend.
The Musketeers’ next action is Friday in Sioux Falls against the Stampede before they return home to face the Stampede on Saturday and the Lincoln Stars Sunday.
Chicago will be on the road Friday and Saturday to visit the Tri-City Storm.
