Monday evening, the son of former NHL vet Owen Nolan, Dylan Nolan, was traded to the Waterloo Black Hawks for Connor Brown.

This trade follows Nolan’s rookie campaign where he was able to find the back of the net twice, with one of the goals being against his new club in the 2025 Clark Cup Playoffs. Playing in 55 games last season, Nolan even laced up for some ice time in both of the Storm’s playoff games where they fell short to the Black Hawks in two games.

Before Nolan moved on to the USHL, he spent multiple years in the Juniors helping the San Jose Jr. Sharks where he accumulated 50 points in his final year. After leaving San Jose, Nolan arrived in LA with the Junior Kings, where he helped them to two consecutive playoff berths. Nolan really came into his own in his final year with the Junior Kings, where he went on to score 34 goals with 46 assists to round out his unbelievable 80-point season.

In this trade, Tri-City received Connor Brown, a forward from Florida that was drafted by the Black Hawks in 2021 where he recorded 21 goals and 42 assists in his total time with the team. Last season, Brown sat with Western Michigan University for his first year in the NCAA as he was out with injury.
