The annual event consistently draws over 400 junior, collegiate and professional coaches and scouts to the region.

The 2025 DICK’s Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic is returning to Pittsburgh, the league and the Pittsburgh Penguins announced Wednesday.

The 10th annual event will take place at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pa. for the 2025-26 season.

Scheduled for Sept. 17-22, 2025, the Fall Classic consistently draws over 400 junior, collegiate and professional coaches and scouts to the region. All 16 USHL teams will play two regular-season games during the five-day event, which will also feature a series of youth tournaments in the area.

Every USHL coach and general manager will be in attendance at the event, which has spent the past nine years in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Last year, 86 teams from 36 different youth programs from 14- to 18U took part in separate tournaments at the Lemieux Sports Complex and various other rinks in the Pittsburgh area. Team Minnesota Blue (14U), Pittsburgh Penguins Elite (15U), North Jersey Avalanche (16U) and South Kent (18U) each won the championship in their respective divisions.

The Fall Classic serves as a great opportunity for USHL and other youth players to interact with scouts, coaches and each other.

“We are fortunate to partner with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the NHL for the 10th DICK’s Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic,” USHL President and Commissioner Glenn Hefferan said in a news release. “This premier event serves as a showcase and kickoff for our league, as well as an early-season test for some of the top Tier I youth teams from North America.”
