With three preseason games on Thursday, September 5, in USHL preseason action, the Sioux City Musketeers and Green Bay Gamblers' offense exploded. Meanwhile, Lincoln held off Omaha in a tightly-contested, back-and-forth game.

1st Star: Joseph Mense, Sioux City Musketeers
Stats: 1 G, 2 A, 3 P, 1 shot, +2
Mense helped the Musketeers jump out to a 4-0 lead in the first period en route to a 7-2 final score. The 18-year-old found Olivers Murnieks on the backdoor to open the scoring, then converted on a give-and-go play just 27 seconds later. Mense also collected a secondary assist on Justin Stupka's wrister from the high slot late in the opening frame.
2nd Star: Mykhailo Danylov, Green Bay Gamblers
Stats: 1 G, 1 A, 2 P, 3 shots, +2
Danylov finished with a goal and an assist in the Gamblers' 8-1 win over the Youngstown Phantoms. The third-year forward opened the scoring less than three minutes into the game. Danylov picked up the primary assists on Tanner Bruender's second goal of the night, coming with just over 90 seconds left in the second period.
3rd Star: Gio Digiulian, Lincoln Stars
Stats: 1 G, 1 A, 2 P, 3 shots
Digiulian recorded a goal and an assist and finished with a team-high three shots on goal in the Lincoln Stars' 5-4 win over the Omaha Lancers. The 18-year-old tied the game at one goal apiece with eight minutes left in the first period on an unassisted shorthanded goal. Digiulian then collected the primary assist on Caeden Herrington's power-play marker just 37 seconds into the middle frame.
