The Vancouver Canucks could be getting a significant part of their lineup back on Monday. According to Elliotte Friedman of "Sportsnet," goaltender Thatcher Demko could be in the lineup when Vancouver takes on the New Jersey Devils. In a post on "X," Friedman wrote, "We will see what tomorrow brings but hearing Thatcher Demko is a possibility to start for Vancouver in NJ."
Latest From THN’s Vancouver Canucks Site:
The 2024-25 season has been rough for Demko. He has only played 17 games and is recovering from a lower-body injury that he sustained on February 8 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. So far this year, Demko has a 6-6-3 record and has won four of his last five starts.
Demko returning to the lineup could provide the team with a massive boost on Monday. The Canucks are already without center Filip Chytil and could be missing both center Elias Pettersson and winger Nils Höglander when they take on the Devils. Vancouver is currently five points out of the final Wild Card spot with 12 games to go and will need all the points they can get if they have their eyes on a berth in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Canucks travel to New Jersey on Monday to take on the Devils. This will be the third of a six-game road trip, which Vancouver has started 0-1-1. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:30 pm PT and can be viewed on Amazon Prime.
