After a long and exciting season, the 2025 Memorial Cup Final is finally here. This year's championship game will feature the Medicine Hat Tigers taking on the London Knights. These two have already faced off once, with the Tigers defeating the Knights 3-1 in the round-robin. 

Just like in the round-robin, Sunday's final is expected to be high-paced from start to finish. Each team has scored at least 11 goals in the tournament, with five players in this game having already recorded at least five points. The question is, will the offence prevail, or will fans be treated to yet another goaltending duel? 

The key to success for Medicine Hat will be its special teams. While the power play has been solid at 27.3%, their penalty kill has struggled, posting a kill rate of 55.6%. If they can stay out of the box and find a way to shut down London's dangerous power play, the Tigers could be headed back to Alberta with the Memorial Cup.

While Medicine Hat has a stacked team full of talent, the 2025 Memorial Cup will be filled with powerhouse teams who have had very impressive playoff runs of their own. One of those teams is the London Knights, who will represent the OHL this year.

It feels like Gavin McKenna's entire WHL career has been leading up to this moment. The 2026 draft prospect has had a strong tournament so far, and will need to have the game of his life if he wants to break the WHL's decade-long Memorial Cup drought. With a win and a big performance on Sunday, McKenna will cement himself as one of the best WHL players of the 21st Century.

Easton Cowan:

For the Tigers to win, they need to find a way to shut down Easton Cowan. The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect leads the Memorial Cup with six points, while his 22 shots rank second in the tournament. If Medicine Hat can keep Cowan off the scoresheet for a second time, it will go a long way in helping the Tigers pick up their third championship in franchise history.
